Sports Paraphernalia and Trophies

A two pronged concept for a whole new collection: “The authentic sports bar” is a selection of colorful objects pertaining to the world of Italian sporting clubs such as Bocciofile, that lived the height of their popularity between the 1960’s and 1980’s. Low brow and inspired by amateur players and sports fans, the objects that make up this selection are playful, vibrant and sometimes outright silly!

“The gentleman’s Sports Club” (which we are not showing here, but which will be on full display at Maison&Objet) has a high-brow and slightly decadent twist. Objects from this collection hint at different sports and practices, from horseback riding to motorsports and figure skating and evoke many upper class clichés such as Champagne drinking and cigar smoking.

Our sports themed research contains a number of sub-genres and tangents within! We have spent the past few months acquiring sports rackets, balls, boxing gloves and other equipment, but also trophies and spirit bottles like the ones that were consumed and displayed in Bocciofile all around Italy. The only difference is that ours have been emptied out and thoroughly cleaned, while preserving the colorful vintage labels.

Boxes and Serving Trays

Trays are being sourced in all areas of Europe with a growing selection that includes all wood models, metal and melamine combinations, encased fabrics, framed mirrors and more.

Our Best Selection of Mid-Century Glass Ever

Ornamental glass objects of the XX century remain one of our strongest suits! This year’s selection is larger and includes many more rare pieces! Murano, Bohemia and Sweden have been our top hunting grounds for the past few months and we literally cannot wait to present these latest finds. Another important expansion regards our assortment of Thuringian Lauscha glass which we introduced last year for the first time.
