Year after year our Maison&Objet booth keeps on growing, the number of European mid-century Originals we bring along keeps expanding. And if we were to write a list it would be extremely long and perhaps a bit boring, so let’s just focus on a few highlights.
You can come discover the rest in person in Paris or through our Instagram stories in case you aren’t visiting the trade show.
A world of colorful Glassware
A couple thousand colorful drinking glasses gathered over the past few months mostly in Italy! This category has been growing at a fast pace and comprises many different shapes, sizes and styles. With pieces as old as the 1920’s and as recent as the mid 1980’s this collection is indeed wild and surprising. But this is only one of 12 huge glass product families we are presenting at this year’s show.
Shimmering Crystal and clear Glass
An entire wall is dedicated to clear glass and crystal sourced throughout Europe. This range of products comprises many Italian, Hungarian, German and Scandinavian mid-century objects ranging from flower vases, to decanters to Bavarian candle holders and Swedish tea-light holders, but also bottles, cups, footed bowls, lidded boxes and more.
More and more mid-century glass Objects
Three more walls on the inside of our stand are dedicated to XX century glass products: colorful vases and jugs, cake stands, heavy ornamental ashtrays and more utilitarian objects such as flasks and a wide selection of apothecary glass (both clear and amber).
A themed collection of Spheres
During the course of 2024 we noticed our Art Director was using more and more spheres in her compositions so we started buying them massively. We cannot tolerate to hinder her creativity! Mid –century Italian bocce and French Petanque balls, billiard balls, juggling balls, medicine balls, silica spheres used in the ceramic industry to grind pigments, natural stone and more. Finally we have enough stock to open up a new product category!
Massive compositions of Unique Objects
Over the years we have become more and more involved in custom projects, some very large involving the temporary or permanent interior decoration of entire buildings. The increasing number of project is determining a faster turnover in unique objects which we are now acquiring at an incredibly quick rate. The same goes for our early to mid century books which Corina likes to pair with unique objects for these compositions.
Ornamental Metal ware like never before
Stemming from our research of unique items: a whole new category of metal vases – which already counts six sub-families – and an expanded range of candle holders, now including both older and newer specimens (from the late 1800’s to the mid 1980’s) and different styles, such as brutalist and post modern. Within the world of ornamental metal ware we are also presenting teapots, raisers, trays and underplates.
Over 200 new Bespoke Products
It’s been a wild ride preparing this trade show: we’ve worked harder than ever to bring you our latest finds from all around Europe. In an attempt to outdo ourselves we even managed to design and put together over 200 new compositions of old objects, mostly in the Backside Stories and Frameforks ranges, but also for the Gilded Fragments product family. We will be waiting for you in Paris at Maison&Objet,
