Pharmaceutical Amber Glass
Amber glass containers for pharmaceutical use were widely spread up until advancements in the packaging industry enabled a modification in the distribution model for this kind of goods. The tint of the glass was useful in maintaining inaltered the qualities of many light-sensitive substances that were handled in pharmacies. The oldest containers among those dealt by All’Origine are from the early 1900’s, the most recent are datable around the 1960’s. The latter are carachterized by the presence of a screw neck. It is not unfrequent to find older specimens with latin inscriprtions indicating the content; either painted on the glass or applied as a paper lable. All the containers are acquired empty and thoroughly cleaned before being offered for sale, however we strongly recomend not to put any food in direct contact with their inside.
